17 November 2017:
At our Celebration Evening the Garden Awards for 2017 were made. Linda Hodgetts presented the John Daws trophy to Tracey Fowler for publicising and supporting many community groups and charities in the town through her journalism.
27 October 2017:
We have won GOLD in the Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions category and Sandy Tebbutt has been given a Community Champion award in recognition of her long service to Portishead in Bloom.

We have won our 10th successive GOLD plus the St Bridget Cup (best in our category), the Sutton Seeds Cup for an outstanding area of nature conservation for Portbury Wharf Nature reserve and the Sponsor's Cup for Most Meritorious Entry. September 2017:
Portishead in Bloom would like to thank our local Sainsbury’s store for allowing us to hold a bucket collection on Saturday 9th September and thanks to the generosity of their customers we raised a fantastic £429.
July 2017:
Huge thanks to the volunteers from Sainsbury's, Portishead, who braved the rain on Tuesday 4th July to clean and repaint our tubs and street furniture. Click photo to enlarge.

Our bucket collection at Lidl’s raised £512. Many thanks to Lidl’s and all those who donated.

24 February 2017: £200 is to be spent in Rodmoor Gardens in memory of Nancy and George Thompson who lived in Portishead for 28 years and spent many hours in Rodmoor Gardens.

We had a hedge planting session at Esplanade Road on Wednesday 15 February thanks to funding from Western Power Distribution.
7 February 2017:
Many thanks to Waitrose for their kind donation from the ‘green token’ collection to the value of £295, and to all those who supported Portishead in Bloom via their tokens.
4 February 2017:
Peter Rose of Portishead Camera Club treated Portishead in Bloom and friends to a lovely audio visual evening. at the Lido Kitchen. All the proceeds of the evening were very generously given to Portishead in Bloom. Our thanks are also due to the volunteers at the Lido Kitchen for very kindly loaning the premises free of charge.
27 January 2017:
We had the help of six Bristol Port Company apprentices for seven hours at the Town Garden helping to put top soil into the raised beds together with their supervisor Colin Smith.

We are having a change at the Town Garden (near the Library). We are making a potager garden which is a decorative way of growing vegetables. The term comes from an old French word meaning vegetables for the pot. Each four metre bed will have a home-
