3 December 2015:

Ken Windibank has won the VOLUNTEER HERO award at the North Somerset MercuryKen Windibank - Volunteer Hero Hero Awards held at Cadbury House in Congresbury. Ken is on the left in the photo receiving his award from sponsor Hunter Selection. See also North Somerset Mercury article here >>

24 September 2015:

At the South West in Bloom results presentation in Dartmouth we won Gold in our category and the St. Bridget Cup. Details >> In the It’s Your Neighbourhood awards we had six in the Outstanding category. Details >> We also won the hotly contested "Art in the Landscape" cup which was a new award.  

6 September 2015:

Our collection day at Sainsbury's on Sunday 6 September raised £231. Many thanks to Sainsbury's and to all who donated.


12 April 2015:

We had a lovely spring morning with the children from the Lakeside Nursery with their parents in the Esplanade Meadow where we planted home grown daffodils, cowslips and foxgloves. Our thanks to Nicky at the nursery for her help in organising a wonderful event. Photos >> 2 3 4

We planted a fruit and nut hedge at Esplanade Meadow, Esplanade Road. Thanks to all who helped.

12 January 2015:

A Wassail event was held with friends of Transition Portishead and Portishead in Bloom in the Millennium Garden (adjacent to Parish Church), where the apple tree was blessed by Parish Church Pilgrim, Tina Hodgett. Portishead Choir, conducted by Wendy Sergeant, sang Wassail songs. Cider was poured over the tree roots by Claire Shellis. There was hot mulled cider in the Millennium Garden.
